April 25 - Rick Shoaf Memorial Ride

Join us on Saturday, April 25, for a special group ride on the Chester Valley Trail in memory of Richard “Rick” Shoaf, Swarthmore Fire & Protective Association member, volunteer first responder, and friend to many in our community. April 25 is Rick’s birthday, and we will honor him with a ride together on the trail he would have enjoyed.

Rick was known as the “Bike Man,” always helping people by picking up, repairing, and returning bicycles in and around Swarthmore. If he fixed your bike, this ride is for you.

All proceeds from this ride will benefit the Hero Scholarship Fund of Delaware County, supporting the families of fallen first responders.

First responders, volunteer firefighters, EMS, law enforcement, and community supporters are encouraged to participate.

Attendees will also have the chance to tour Swarthmore College’s renowned geothermal, composting, and food recovery systems.

March 7th - Chester Creek Trail Phase 2 Expansion – Community Open House

The long‑awaited Chester Creek Trail Phase 2 expansion is moving forward, bringing 1.3 miles of new trail south into some of Delaware County’s most walkable, working‑class neighborhoods. With all right‑of‑way secured and permits approved as of August 2025, construction is expected to begin in early 2026 under the leadership of the Delaware County Public Works Department.
Phase 2 will extend the trail from Middletown Township into Aston Township, crossing Chester Creek Road and the upgraded former railroad bridge, and ending near Bridgewater Road at a new 15‑car trailhead. Additional improvements include a 22‑car trailhead at Dutton Mill Road, traffic‑calming features, and safer at‑grade crossings.
To learn more, residents are invited to a public open house on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 11 AM to 3 PM at the Redwood Community Center in Upland Park, 280 6th St, Brookhaven, PA

February 7, 2026, Western Philadelphia Suburbs Trail Summit

The 2026 Western Philadelphia Suburbs Trail Summit was an energizing reminder of how much passion, collaboration, and forward momentum exists in our region’s trail community. Representatives from townships, counties, advocacy groups, and planning organizations came together with a shared purpose: to build a safer, more connected, and more accessible trail network for everyone. Being in the room with so many dedicated partners was both humbling and inspiring.

KlineRentNride was honored to attend and even more grateful to be recognized by Bike Delco, who included our logo in their slide deck and mentioned our work during the regional overview. As a small, family‑run business rooted in Delaware County, that acknowledgment meant the world to us. We started KlineRentNride with a simple mission: to help people rediscover the joy of riding and to make our trails accessible to riders of all ages, abilities, and experience levels. Seeing our name alongside organizations we deeply respect reaffirmed that we’re contributing to something meaningful.

The summit highlighted an impressive list of new and expanding trails across Delco, Chester County, Philadelphia, and beyond. We’re excited to explore these corridors firsthand — from the evolving Darby Creek Trail to the Tinicum Island Road alignments, the Pennsy and Naylor’s Run extensions, and the major regional connectors linking West Philadelphia to Lower Merion. Each new segment represents an opportunity for more people to get outside, move freely, and experience the beauty of our region.

As these projects advance, KlineRentNride will continue offering trail‑ready e‑bike rentals, delivery to local trailheads, and support for community events. We’re proud to play even a small part in this civic effort, and we look forward to serving riders across these growing networks.
