Pre-Ride Inspection
- Battery & Electronics
- Ensure battery is fully charged and securely mounted.
- Check display and controls for proper function.
- Record mileage and battery voltage.
- Test lights and bell (if applicable).
- Brakes & Wheels
- Inspect brake pads for wear and ensure proper braking response.
- Brake pads must be within manufacturers’ recommendations. – 2.7 mm to 4 mm
- Check tire pressure and look for punctures or excessive wear.
- Ensure wheels are true (not wobbling) and spokes are tight.
- Frame & Suspension
- Look for cracks, dents, or signs of damage on the frame.
- If equipped, check suspension for smooth operation.
- Drivetrain & Chain
- Lubricate chain and check for rust or excessive wear.
- Ensure pedals and crank arms are securely attached.
- Test gear shifting for smooth operation (if applicable).
- Steering & Handlebars
- Confirm handlebars are straight and securely fastened.
- Check headset for looseness or unusual movement.
- Safety Accessories
- Ensure reflectors and lights (of applicable) are clean and functional.
- Check helmet and other protective gear.
- Check lock and key for function.
Routine Maintenance
- Clean and lubricate moving parts regularly.
- Inspect bolts and fasteners for tightness.
- Keep battery stored in a cool, dry place when not in use.
Tune ups
- Tune-ups should be conducted every 100 miles.
